Gmail uses non standard ports for POP3 and SMTP:
Server Information
Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.gmail.com port 995
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com 465
Download The Gmail POP Troubleshooter tool at the url below to help make the setup simple
What is the Gmail POP Troubleshooter?
The Gmail POP Troubleshooter tool helps you with the setup of Outlook, Outlook Express, and Thunderbird 1.5 for POP access to your Gmail account.
By checking client settings, server ports, and connection to the Gmail service, the tool is able to pinpoint any errors and provide instructions on fixing them. The Troubleshooting tool also generates a report detailing your settings and test results -- if you have trouble, you'll have the option of sending your report to Google for further troubleshooting assistance.
Requirements: works with Outlook 2000, 2003, and 2007, Outlook Express 6, and Thunderbird 1.5. Currently only available for Windows.

How do i access my microsoft office outlook account from home?internet browser internet explorer
You can access it anywhere by double-clicking the Outlook icon.
I need to know what the Yahoo incoming mail server and outgoing mail server are.
you can't, yahoo disabled this feature like.. 5 years ago... however if you search for "yahoo pop" then you may find something... just maybe...
My mails get converted to plain text when i send or receive my mails, which does not allow me any formatting in the text or display any pictures in the body of my mail. I need help with putting it right. Suggestions welcome... thanks...

my computer? It is just taking up space on my desktop and I have tried to move it to other folders, etc. on my computer and it won't let me; so is it safe or whatever just to totally delete it off of my computer?
Just moving the icon of Outlook won't actually free your hard disk space. If you just want to get rid of that icon you can delete it. Believe me it will warn you but if you delete it nothing will go wrong. Infact you can still launch it from the Start menu%26gt;Programs%26gt;...
However, if you also want to free the hard disk space go to Start%26gt; Settings %26gt; Control Panel. Open Add remove programs and search for Microsoft Office or something similar. When the wizard pops up just remove checkbox from the applications you won't be using. These will be removed from desktop as well as hard disk.
The icon on the desktop is just a "shortcut" which does not take much space on harddisk.
I have a question about Microsoft Office Outlook, I never have or never will use it is it important to keep onwindows updates internet explorer
look to tell u the trueth i have no idea and i'm not gone look it up halla
You can uninstall Office Outlook from your computer if you won't be using it.
You can do it under Control Panel --%26gt; Add or Remove Programs --%26gt; Click on "Change" under Microsoft Office and then add or remove features, then uncheck the box for Outlook. =)
yes you can delete it since you don't use it. make sure you you don't delete it along with microsoft word, excel %26amp; other office programs unless you don't use those programs either. and make sure you uninstall it properly. don't just go deleting all the files.
You don't need Outlook. It's a front end interface for your email. I would say it's mainly used for companies that have their own mail servers.
Microsoft is very smart softwear also you can just get rid of all shortcuts this will put it back in the all programs menu
Yes you can remove Outlook. It is completely useless and a big security hole. I use Mozilla Thunderbird instead.
just move Microsoft Office Outlook in to a fold then just hide it you may want to use Microsoft Office Outlook one time you can remove it from the pc you dont have to keeep it
You can remove it from the desktop, because it's only removing the icon. Do not remove it from the programs under control panel, add %26amp; remove software because it come with a wide varity of programs that are important. It may not even be using up any memory.
You have to keep it on your PC because it came with Microsoft Office
By the way I have a few windows live mail accounts.
windows live is my choose
Which one is better overall Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 or Windows Live Mail ?microsoft money internet explorer
Personally, I would choose Windows Live Mail.
Microsoft Office Outlook, typically, connects to a POP3 account and downloads that email, subsequently removing the email from that account. The email can then only be accessed by that computer.
Windows Live Mail, however, allows you to be able to get to your email from any location as long as it has an internet connection.
i already have an external hard drive so i just need to know where i can save it so wen i reformat my computer it will be the same
open outlook click file in the upper left corner-import export-export to file-personal folder file (pst)-highlight the top of the chain where it says mailbox-your name-check include sub folders-click next-browse to the location you want to save it-then click finish-the computer will take care of the rest-if you have alot of contacts and saved emails and stuff this could take some time to complete
good luck

How to config Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 yahoo email?microsoft office 2003 internet explorer
Applies to
Microsoft Office Outlook? 2003
Microsoft Outlook? 2002
You can use Outlook with your Yahoo! Mail e-mail account as long as you use a paid subscription Yahoo! Mail account that includes POP3 access and forwarding. Free Web browser-based Yahoo! Mail accounts cannot be accessed in Outlook.
You can receive your Yahoo! Mail e-mail messages by using Outlook from most places with an Internet connection. Yahoo! Mail provides you access to an authenticated SMTP server 鈥?allowing you to send e-mail messages using Outlook from your Yahoo! Mail account when you use another Internet service, such as at your office or when traveling.
Note If you want information about SBC Yahoo! e-mail accounts that are included with your Internet service provider (ISP) (ISP: A business that provides access to the Internet for such things as electronic mail, chat rooms, or use of the World Wide Web. Some ISPs are multinational, offering access in many locations, while others are limited to a specific region.) account, this article does not apply. See Outlook Help for configuring SBC Yahoo! e-mail accounts.
Do one of the following:
Add your Yahoo! Mail e-mail account
On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
Click POP3, and then click Next.
Under User Information, do the following:
In the Your Name box, type your full name the way that you want it to appear to other people.
In the E-mail Address box, type your e-mail user name, followed by @yahoo.com.
Under Server Information, do the following:
In the Incoming mail server (POP3) box, type pop.mail.yahoo.com.
In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) box, type smtp.mail.yahoo.net.
Under Logon Information, do the following:
In the User Name box, type your user name. Do not include @yahoo.com.
In the Password box, type your password.
Select the Remember password check box.
Note You have the option to have Outlook remember your password by typing it in the Password box and selecting the Remember password check box. Having Outlook remember your password means that you won't have to type your password each time you access the account; however, it also means that the account is vulnerable to anyone who has access to your computer. Use strong passwords that combine upper- and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Weak passwords don't mix these elements. Strong password: Y6dh!et5. Weak password: House27. Use a strong password that you can remember so that you don't have to write it down.
To verify that your account is working, click Test Account Settings. If there is missing or incorrect information, such as your password, you will be prompted to supply or correct it. Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet.
Click More Settings.
On the General tab, under Mail Account, type Yahoo! Mail.
Click the Outgoing Server tab, and then select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication check box.
Click Use same settings as my incoming mail server, and then click OK.
Click Next, and then click Finish.
Notes
Do not select the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) check box.
Unless specified by Yahoo! Mail, all server and address entries are typed in lowercase letters.
Remove your Yahoo! Mail e-mail account
On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
Click the Yahoo! Mail e-mail account that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
Click Finish.
Do you like it? Can you give me some basic info on how it works and how to use it? Is it free? Can I use it with multiple email addresses?
outlook 2003, is great. it is not free however if you go to www.microsoft.com you can get to download a trial of the software.
if you can use outlook express then you can use outlook.
everything in it is pretty straightforward and self explanatory.
take a look at the Microsoft office link below on the site you will see a link for the trial of 2003 and a link for 2007 office system beta 2.
i hope this helps a little.
you can set up as many email addresses as you like and it can manage then all at once. with outlook open all you do to get your email is either set up to automatically download at set intervals (offline as well i should add) OR you can press F9 and have all your grouped accounts mail collected at the same time. by the same time i mean each account in order as it appears in the account list.
Do you use Microsoft Office Outlook 2003?microsoft works internet explorer
yep to all the above except "free"
M$ gives nothing for "free"
Yes, it's good. The manual is probably hundreds of pages so too much to go into here. Not free. Actually rather expensive. Can use with numerous addresses of all different types (smtp, exchange, notes, etc).
im running right now. and i got a free download from MS. they been good to me, probably cuz ive spent so much money on them, and give them feedback all the time. yeah outlook is good, easy to use, pretty much self-explanitory.
Alan.
What? What do you want to know?
There are so many little disasters in Office and Outlook that it's impossible to give you a useful answer. As an expert Word user with near 20 years experience I still find that the only way to salvage some documents is to save them as plain text and then reimport them. One advantage of WordPerfect was that you could edit the raw tags, but Word hides them because Micro$oft knows best.
Once in a while, Outlook, which I only use at work because IT thinks MS is wonderful and the truth is IT are idiots, just loses the plot. There's a rescue tool that works about 90% of the time, but once in a while your entire email history is just fragged and that's life.
So ask a specific question.
.pst of 2003 has a limited space of 2GB, The new version of 2007 has more space capability.
How do I import the files from my old pst to my new one?
Use the import function built into outlook. Choose other .pst file
I beleive that you can do this.
Yes

How do you change your default email from Microsoft Office Outlook to Outlook express?microsoft powerpoint internet explorer
Go to whichever program you want to use, if it doesn't ask you automatically, you can set it as your default in the properties tab.
I have chosen it under internet options/program tab but it still won't accept or send emails.
Do you have Outlook set up with your e-mail settings IE: pop server and stmp server info?
Whatever I try it will only ever let me copy things to folders within the program itself.
In the file menu choose the import and export option...then you want to save your contacts as .pst file..... there's a wizard that takes you through it....
How do I copy contacts from Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 to a CD?windows server 2003 internet explorer
click on File export and export to a csv file and write to a cd
Export them to Excel, and than save to (burn) on CD Excel worksheet
You could also cut/paste them to a folder then burn the files to a CD. This would allow you to import the ones you want back into Outlook later.
copy your .pst folder from teh outlook file under documents ad settings/user name/local settings/application data/microsoft/outlook
Effectively Outlook is a database program (like Access for instance). When you try to export your contacts it runs a query and extracts your contacts into another database object called a folder within Outlook. Effectively you have run a Make Table query that has placed the data withing Outlook.
You need to export the data out of Outlook into a comma separated values (csv) file. Follow the steps of the export wizard and select Windows csv file.
LIKE ON A MONTHLY BASIS OR BY THE SOFTWARE AND THATS IT?
Outlook is a retail product, and you'll have to purchase it. You can download a trial version from Microsoft's website. All Windows computers have Outlook Express installed - perhaps this will meet your needs.
You can probably find an older/used version on ebay for less than the current retail price.
DO YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR MICROSOFT OFFICE outlook?microsoft exchange internet explorer
just buy the software... no monthly fee
read my lips: N-O-T-H-I-N-G
All you have to do is purchase the software. No monthly fee is required. It generally comes with Microsoft Office.
duh, Microsnots middle name is $$$$$$
there is no fee to use it but there is a fee to buy it.....but i reccomed downloading it from the internet for free instead of paying for it....
You perhaps think that Microsoft has gotten rich by 'giving software away'. You buy the license to use the software only once, you can not 'buy' the software, Microsoft does not do business that way.
How would you troubale shoot them???
You know office is a suite of software? It's a set of programs.
The main issues with Outlook are that it is a virus gateway with a lame interface.
Microsoft Office outlook 2003 AND Outlook Express both come from Microsoft Inc.
While Outlook Express comes freely with your Windows XP, you need to BUY Microsoft Office Outlook.
So Outlook Express is like a "free" version of Ms.Office Outlook, and of course it has fewer feature than Ms. Office Outlook.
So it all depends on you, if you want something Free, use Outlook Express. But if you already buy Microsoft Office, then you can use Ms. Office Outlook because Ms.Office Outlook has more feature like Calendar, scheduler, etc. Hence Ms. Office Outlook is BETTER, and safer (it has a better spam guard)
BUT, if you have a slow computer then you may consider to use Outlook Express because it loads faster.
outlook 2003
Which one is better and safer outlook express or microsoft office outlook 2003?microsoft templates internet explorer
microsoft, its always is better and safer. More computers have it.
It's preference to which one you prefer.
And both of them are safe as long as you only give out your "private" email address to friends and family. This avoids you getting spam.
Use a webmail based one (ie. yahoo or hotmail) only for online shopping, to websites who request an email address etc etc. This is the way you get spam.

Can i change my yahoo account over to microsoft office outlook?download ie internet explorer
You can't actually change it, but you can access your Yahoo email from Outlook. It's called POP access but you have to pay Yahoo a small fee to be able to use that service.
It is asking me for my ISP but I don't know what it is? I need the URL for the receiving messages as well as the incoming ones.
You must be a paid subscriber of Yahoo Mail Plus to use email programs like Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc., to access your Yahoo mail. Free accounts cannot be accessed by email clients.
If you already have Plus, go to this Help link...
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/
Under the heading 'Accessing Yahoo Mail via POP', choose the email program you are using and follow the easy set-up instructions.
The only way your Yahoo Mail will work with Microsoft Office Outlook is if you upgrade to Mail plus I don't know how much it is but you do have to pay. Free Yahoo Mail does not give pop3 server access.
I am starting my online business from home and I am trying to start using my BETA Microsoft Office. need some help deserately.
You do know that the Beta version will no longer work after Feb. 1, 2007, correct?
I can help you with your questions, just send me an email.
if yes, how do I do this ?
Yes.
Open your Yahoo mail. Click the Contacts tab. On the top right hand corner click the Import/Export link.
A new window will open. Select Microsoft CSV file from the Choose a program to import contacts from: drop down list.
Click the browse button and select where you want to save the file/contacts.
Save the file and remember where you save it.
Open Outlook Express.
Click File and then click Import.
A window will open. Click the Other Addrss book option.
Another window will open. Select Test File (Comma Seperated values).
Click the Import button.
Another window opens. Find where you save the Yahoo CSV file and follow the instructions.
That's it done.
Its so big I can not find the corner to drag in to make it smaller. I've tried clicking on corners and dragging it in, many times!
For any window, when you can't drag it, you can always use keyboard commands to change the window size and position.
First of all, if you double click on the title bar (at the very top) the note should "restore" back to its original size from the full screen (maxinimzed) size. Then you can drag the corners however you need to.
If that doesn't work, and the note is maximized, you can use the keyboard commands: ALT+SPACE and R to restore the window to its non-maximized size.
If the window is not in "maximized" mode, and you still can't drag it - let's say the title bar is above the top of the screen, and the window takes up the whole screen:
Type ALT+SPACE and M, then use the arrow keys to move the window around.
Type ALT+SPACE and S, then use the arrow keys to resize the window.
That way you can use the same note without killing the process and starting all over!

You have to contact the company that provides your SMTP email service to get the settings you need from them. This is typically your ISP.
Yahoo makes you pay for it. Actually I looked this up on yahoo and found it on yahoo answers lol
Use yahoopops. You can configure your Outlook Express to add yahoo as your external account. You can send and receive messages. This is the download link:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/yahoopop...
and here is the way to configure it:
http://www.spampal.org/usermanual/webser...
If you are using Yahoo's free email service, you can't download messages into Outlook or any other email program. If you are using Yahoo Plus Email (paid for), the settings are:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 995)
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)
Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com")
Email Address: Your Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., user@yahoo.com)
Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password

you have to be part of Yahoo! Mail Plus where you pay $20 yearly and then you can use Outlook Express because it gives you POP access
The "Best Answer" is incorrect and missed the fact that YPOPs is being used. YPOPs is an interface that allows Yahoo users to access their Yahoo mail accounts using POP3 mail clients without subscribing to Yahoo Plus. You probably need to update your version of YPOPs. Report It
Well there are alot of things you could try. You could look on the internet for tutorials, or you could go to your local book store and buy a few books that specialize in that category.
If your still a highschool student you should take a class in computers and even if your not you can still take a class at a local community college. Taking classes at community colleges are pretty cheap, it might be around 50 bucks.
Also there is a program out there called video professor, it focuses on teaching alot of microsoft programs, specifically ones you've already mentioned. At this site http://ipods.clickperks.com/?r=376139, u can try a free trial, just fill out the form as if u want an ipod, and just try the free trial instead.
Many colleges have free software training. There are also a lot of books like those "Microsoft excel for dummies" books thats should be helpful. Also ask your friends who are currently administrative assistants to explain the basics to you. Good Luck!
My employer uses an e-mail system based on Microsoft Exchange Server. We have access to our e-mail while at home through "Outlook Web Access." However, functionality is limited and I would love to set it up right through [normal] Outlook at home. Is there any way to do this?
The only way you can check you company's exchange server is if the server has an outside IP address and you know it, or if you company has the software/hardware to create a VPN tunnel through their firewall so it makes your computer virtually part of their network. Then you can set your outook to talk to the server with its internal IP.
Either way, you have to talk to your company's IT department and ask permission and get information on how to do it.
What is the incoming pop, outgoing pop?
you must be a paying member of yahoo to get this service. Once you get the yahoo mail plus you will find all the settings under preferences
